From Engineering to Event Design: Collin Abraham

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Who is Collin Abraham?

Inspired by Sean “Diddy” Combs, who’s been known  to spend up to $600,000 on fetes such as his famed white party in the Hamptons,  Collin Abraham decided to shelve his sound engineering degree and open the floral and even design business, Pollen Nation (www.pollennation.net).  Since then, Abraham’s glam events have included Beyonce and Jay-Z’s nuptial celebration in New York, Diddy’s 33rd birthday bash in Morocco, and three of the inaugural balls held in honor of President Barack Obama.

Stay on the look out for Collin Abraham, as HGTV is currently taping a reality TV show about Abraham and Pollen Nation that will debut in 2011!

MLK: Speaks again…

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011

While reading this “not so popular quote” of Martin Luther King, Jr., I ponder the leaders we have created in today’s society and the basis for our creation…

“We shall have to create leaders who embody virtues we can respect, who have moral and ethical principles we can applaud with an enthusiasm that enables us to rally support for them based on confidence and trust.  We will have to demand high standards and give consistent, loyal support to those who merit it.”

- Martin Luther King, Jr., June 11, 1967

MLK Speaks: New attitude for a New Situation

Friday, January 21st, 2011

Though this is an inspiration from the 1960’s, I believe this quote fits our current society…

Another one of Martin Luther King’s “not so popular” quotes:

“Nothing could be more tragic that for men to live in these revolutionary times and fail to achieve the new attitudes and the new mental outlooks that the new situation demands.”

- Martin Luther King, Jr, 1967
